TI appeared on DJ Whoo Kid's SiriusXM Whoo's House Podcast and of course he brought out the treasure.
The Atlanta rap legend called the beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake “probably one of the most aggravated beefs” he's seen before suggesting the pair go on tour together. “I have respect for both of them,” he said. “I think they're both amazing hitmakers and I'm just looking forward to the tour. That's the only thing. Listen, after the disagreement, the only thing that will sell is the reunion.”
Although he's not wrong, a tour with the two probably isn't in the cards right now. If you recall, Drake famously brought out Kendrick during his 2012 Club Paradise tour, which the OVO frontman mentioned in his “Buried Alive Interlude” parody he posted on Instagram.
Last week, TI stopped by Real 92.3 in Los Angeles to talk to Big Boy when asked about the beef. Admitted that it's good for the game in general, however, Tip felt that the battle could prevent other artists from falling. “They kind of made it for some other people who were planning to drop out around that time. I think some people said, 'Hell, I'd go,' let me have a good look at it.”
TI is not wrong. Taylor Swift found herself in the middle of the beef when Drake mentioned that Lamar needed Swift's permission to drop a diss record on “Taylor Made Freestyle” and in turn K. Dot tapped Taylor's producer Jack Antonoff to help out on the diss track “6:16 in LA.” Whoo Kid is slightly involved in this controversy on Drake's side as he lent his legendary DJ to the Toronto rapper for his diss track “Push Ups.” There were also rumors swirl about a Whoo Kid rant that never appeared.
If you're wondering why outlets want to get TI's thoughts on this particular rap battle, it's because the Grand Hustle boss has seen his fair share of rap ways, most notably when he went to the late Shawty Lo's house in 2008 for the Video ” What Up, What's Haapnin””.
We won't hold our breath, though, when it comes to the tour he suggested.
