With a new year comes new territory. And after exploring the genre on many of his 2023 DJ sets, Tiësto has joined forces with drum & bass icons Rudimental for a new collaboration, “Waterslides.”
Featuring the brilliant vocals of Absolutely, who has written songs for artists like Normani, Ty Dolla $ign and Anitta, “Waterslides” is a phenomenal leap into uncharted waters for Tiësto. Together with Rudimental, he has created an upbeat anthem with a vivid soundscape painted by vibrant synths and constant percussion.
The production is a masterful display of everyone involved, showing how easily dance genres can flow when in the capable hands of master craftsmen.
“I'm always open to exploring new and different styles of music, and when I started closing out my festival performances earlier this year with some drum & bass tracks, fans went crazy,” Tiësto said in a press release. “It was amazing to experiment with this genre and work with Rudimental and Absolutely on this one!”
Tiësto has already started 2024 off strong after announcing a one-of-a-kind performance at Super Bowl LVIII and a high-profile DJ residency in Las Vegas with Groot Hospitality and Tao Group. Rudimental, who have also remained a force for decades in electronic music, also started the year off with a bang after releasing “Alibi“with Ella Henderson.
