Comedian Tim Heidecker joins Kyle Meredith to delve into the creative processes behind his latest album, Slip awayListen to the interview above or Wherever you get your podcasts.
Known for his comedy projects such as Tim and EricHeidecker’s new album shows his personal and musical evolution, which deepened during the pandemic. “I was hesitant to be honest because my comedy was so steeped in irony. But this album touches on deeper fears and anxieties,” Heidecker explains.
Much of Heidecker’s musical growth is due to the collaborative environment he’s fostered in Los Angeles: “It’s something I hadn’t really done: making a record with a band, not just session musicians. We did it together.” That band, The Very Good Band, will be Heidecker’s support band on his newly announced 2025 tour dates. Tickets go on sale Friday, September 19 at 10 a.m. local time, and you can get them through Ticket Master.
In addition to the album, we also hear about Heidecker's role in the upcoming A24 film. Year 2000Directed and co-written by Saturday Night Live Former student Kyle Mooney. Heidecker also shares the funny story of the time he drove Pixies frontman Frank Black around in a minivan.
