The wait for Tinlicker's latest album is finally over after the Dutch duo finally released their third LP, Cold enough for snow.
Cold enough for snow dives into the complexity of inner turmoil, weaving threads of love, loneliness, acceptance and longing. Through soulful melodies and beautifully written vocal features, Tinlicker and his collaborators do an excellent job of harnessing those conflicting emotions.
The impressive album features a star-studded cast of collaborators including Julia Church, Nathan Nicholson, Circa Waves, Tom Smith, CLOVES, Brian Molko and Metropole Orkest. While the percussion and harmonies generate a lot of emotion, the vocalists add layers and layers of depth to help convey the messages hidden deep within.
The album begins with “Glasshouse,” one of two songs that features Church, whose haunting vocals explore a dream about someone she loves. Uplifting melodies blend with a subtle rhythm, creating a hopeful soundscape that blends each element effortlessly. “Who I'm Not” embarks on a similar path, featuring the lovely vocals of CLOVES.
Since their debut in 2012, Tinlicker have remained a powerhouse duo on the global electronic music scene, especially within the Anjunabeats family. Cold enough for snow It's a remarkable exploration of his sound. With a tour of Europe and North America on the horizon, they have a big year ahead.
