After months adrift in the swirling sea of unreleased dubstep music, Distinct Motive's legendary ID “Mellow Man” has finally reached safe harbor.
It's the title track from a new EP that's out now on Zeds Dead's record label, Deadbeats. The release is a perfect match for Deadbeats and the Canadian DJ and producer, who has made homage to the beginnings of dubstep his calling card.
Once an elusive white whale hunted by hungry fans, this chilling track can now be rinsed and playlisted on streaming platforms. Its origins date back to the 2023 edition of Minnesota's Infrasound Equinox festival, where a clip of its fall was recorded before going viral due in part to the crowd reaction.

2024 looks like a make-or-break year for Distinct Motive, who are currently gearing up for a historic performance on March 30 at Red Rocks in support of headliner Boogie T. They'll then head to Virginia's Hampton Coliseum on April 12-13 for Zeds. The Dead's “First Contact” acquisition, which is billed as Deadbeats' biggest East Coast event in the label's history.
