Earlier this month, Tom Brady sat in the hot seat for a roast at the Netflix Is a Joke comedy festival. Now, the legendary quarterback has revealed that the event “affected [his] children” and that “I would not do that again.”
Brady's revelation came in an appearance on The Pivot Podcast, where he was asked what his biggest learning was from the experience. “I loved when the jokes were about me, I thought they were so funny,” she responded. “[But] I didn't like the way it affected my children… [There’s a] The bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then suddenly you realize, “I wouldn't do that again, because of the way it affected the people I care about most in the world.” “
Brady explained that he was initially open to the idea because he was a big fan of comedy shows and comedian Jeff Ross. But, in his own words, “you don't always see the whole picture.”
Now, Brady vows to “be a better father as I go forward” thanks to the experience. “Sometimes you're naïve and you don't know, or you're like, 'Oh, shit,'” he said. “I think it's a good lesson for me as a father.”
Beyond Brady and Ross, many top comedians, athletes and celebrities were present at the aptly named roast The best roast of all timeincluding Kevin Hart, Nikki Glaser, Tom Segura, Tony Hinchcliffe, Rob Gronkowski, Drew Bledsoe and many more.
And, as usual with roasts, Brady wasn't the only one getting some shade; in fact, the boos Kim Kardashian received when she took the stand were evidently enough for Netflix to remove him from the version of the roast. that is currently broadcasting.
However, Brady ended his comments by reminding that it's important to look on the bright side whenever possible. “I'm happy that everyone who was there had a lot of fun,” he said. “If we don't laugh at things, we cry. “We should have more fun.”
