Hi, I'm Tems and here are five things you don't know about my music.
Number one is that almost all of my music is freestyle. It all comes from freestyle. It's just me freestyling all the time.
The second and second is that I cried while making some of the songs because they were so personal to me. I think maybe that was too personal, but yeah, it's true.
My favorite city to perform in… right now, I don't have a favorite city to perform in. I really want to perform in Paris. I think that could be life-changing.
So I have a song called “Free Mind.” And when I was making that song, there's a sample at the beginning that sounds like he's howling. A lot of people don't know that I sang it on my laptop. I didn't have a microphone when I made that song, so I put my laptop speaker in my mouth and sang the song, sampled it.
What inspires me the most is the stage of life I'm in, along with the music I've listened to and the people I love: Frank Ocean, Aṣa, Sade. Those are the people who inspire me and helped me in my process.
