Diana Ross turned 80 on Tuesday (March 26), and the iconic musician's daughter, actress Trace Ellis Ross, celebrated her mother's life and career with an Instagram post.
“Oh how I love you mom. 80 incredible photos of you in 80 seconds to celebrate your 80th birthday today,” she captioned a montage of snaps with the 'I'm Coming Out' star. Tracee then rattled off a number of career accomplishments noted by her mother, including her impressive track record of album releases, tours and TV appearances, real estate purchases, merchandise and more. “This was at a time when women couldn't apply for credit or serve on a jury and didn't have access to birth control, but could be fired for being pregnant. (Mind),” Tracee wrote.
Tracee also shed light on the caring mother that is Diana. “What's not available on Google is that she also woke us up for school (she's the best awake), made family dinner and bath time, recorded while we slept, planned our birthday parties, play dates, doctor appointments, settling fights between siblings…you know, all the mom stuff,” she wrote.
The 51-year-old Blackish The star concluded by sweetly noting, “Amidst breaking records, breaking glass ceilings and setting a new bar for style and glamour, we, her children, were always her priority. As I often say, 'Diana Ross' the world's favorite icon is legendary, but she doesn't hold a candle to my mum.'

Last year, she surprised Beyoncé with a medley of “Love Hangover” and “Happy Birthday” on ” Texas Hold'Em” singer's Renaissance World tour show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles (Sept. 4, 2023). The icon, who was the star chosen by Motown to officially introduce the Jackson 5, is set to be featured in the upcoming biopic Michael Jackson movie by Kat Graham, as announced earlier this week.
