Before James Gunn’s reboot of the Superman franchise, Warner Bros. will release a documentary on one of the most iconic actors to ever wear the cape: Christopher Reeve. Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story is set to screen in theaters on two nights—September 21st and September 25th, 2024. The first trailer for the documentary has just been unveiled; you can watch it below.
Directed by Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui, Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story explores the actor’s extraordinary life, from his legendary portrayal of Superman across four films to the near-fatal horse-riding accident in 1995 that left him paralyzed from the neck down. Following his injury, Reeves became an important advocate for disability legislation and embryonic stem cell research. He died at the age of 52.
The film promises “never-before-seen intimate home movies and an extraordinary trove of personal archive material,” along with “the first extended interviews ever filmed with Reeve’s three children about their father,” and “interviews with Hollywood A-listers who were Reeve’s colleagues and friends.”
