The Kansas City Chiefs star attended the first weekend of the festival to see sets from Dom Dolla, Jungle and Jack Antonoff's band Bleachers
The first weekend of Coachella was a playground and a musical wonderland for Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, who attended the festival with Taylor Swift. The pair were spotted in the crowd at sets by Ice Spice, Dom Dolla and more, opting to soak in the pit (albeit in the more exclusive VIP section) rather than watch from the side of the stage. Kelce recapped the weekend in his latest episode New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason.
“I like to see it from the fans' perspective,” Kelce shared. “Because I'm a music fan, I'm a live performance fan. I want to see it from the front of the stage. We probably could have perfected it that way, but I think it's a lot more of an experience if you're in the pit, man, if you're in the frenzy with all the fans.”
One of the few sets Kelce and Swift chose to watch from the side stage was Bleachers, the band fronted by the singer's collaborator and longtime friend Jack Antonoff. Swift being in the crowd for this might have been causing a bit of a frenzy, but they had just as good a view from where they were. “My guy Jack Antonoff—he absolutely tore it up,” Kelce added. “I had so much fun watching him go crazy with the guitar, all his boys. It had two sax players, two drummers, two guitars and they just tore it up. It was so much fun.”
Kelce, who recently announced the second year of the Kelce Jam music festival, entered his happy place at Coachella. “I love live music, I can't get enough of it in my life,” he said. “I love going to events, going to places where people see all these talented people in the world, I just love experiencing that kind of shit. That's the one thing I really like about Coachella is that it's not just one type of music.”
