“Drugs You Should Try It” has long been a fan favorite of Travis Scott's fans, and the Days before the Rodeo The gem finally has an official music video more than a decade after its original release in 2014.
La Flame released the trippy “Drugs You Should Try It” video on Tuesday (August 18) after DBR hit streaming services last Friday (August 23) to celebrate Scott's mixtape turning 10 years old.
The clip opens with a tribute to Virgil Abloh, who designed the neon-lit smoking cowboy sign that makes his appearance. Scott begins to free fall into a pool of despair and allows his mind to drift into the depths of his conscious.
“You're home alone in the mood,” the screen reads, turning Scott's lyrics into an ad. “1800 397 8669.” The enraged Houston gets out of the bathtub and tries to reconnect with reality by shaking off visions of a burning house and morgue.
Scott celebrated his 10th anniversary Days before the Rodeo with a concert in Atlanta on Thursday night (August 22) ahead of the project's arrival on streaming. He performed “Drugs You Should Try It” and almost the entire project. He also brought in Quavo as a special guest for “Sloppy Toppy.”
The digital deluxe edition is available with five unreleased tracks from the DBR era for $4.99, which has the mixtape expected to earn premium real estate on next week's Billboard 200.
On the merchandise side, La Flame teamed up with the Cactus Plant Flea Market for one Free Thugger Hoodie which is now available on his website for $160.
