Keefe D, the prime suspect in Tupac Shakur's 1996 murder, is out on bail. Born Duane Davis, Keefe D told the Clark County District Court in Nevada that he can now post the $750,000 bond, according to a bond document filed Thursday (June 20) obtained by Advertising sign.
According to the local ABC affiliate KTNV in Las Vegas, Davis will appear in court on Tuesday, June 25, at 9 a.m. to hear Judge Carly Kearney's conditions for his release and verify with the prosecution where the money is coming from. Davis, who has pleaded not guilty to one count of murder with a deadly weapon, has been in the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas since he was was arrested in September as he awaits trial to begin on November 4. Clark County District Judge Jerry Wiese initially denied Davis bail when he was first taken into custody.

Keefe D published his memoir, Compton Street Legend, in 2019. In it, he went into detail about the night of Tupac's murder. “One of my men in the back seat grabbed the Glock and started going back,” Keefe D wrote in his book. “As the rounds continued to fly, I ducked down to avoid being hit.”
He has also appeared in several interviews over the years in which he has spoken about the night of the murder.
These instances may have breached his 2009 Bid Agreement with Los Angeles investigators, where Davis gave them information about Tupac's murder in exchange for immunity. However, Keefe D broke the terms when he began speaking publicly about the details of the murder. Law enforcement had kept tabs the times Davis spoke about the murder publicly and used his own admissions as evidence, which ultimately led to his arrest.
