Frank Sinatra was born on December 12, 1915 in Hoboken, NJ and his voice has been heard frequently this season, so what better time to delve into a new box set highlighting some of Frank's top cuts for Capitol Records to celebrate his signing to the label 70 years ago. The set is simply titled, Platinum.
With 44 tracks on 4 LPs (at least for the vinyl box) the discs are housed in an oversized hardcover package that includes rare photos, an introductory essay and quotes from Sinatra and his arrangers. The man behind the project is Charles Pignone who was the curator of the set and who also serves as the President of Frank Sinatra Enterprises.
So we're ending the year with a toast and a cheer, taking a moment from the hustle and bustle to celebrate the man who had one of the greatest voices any of us has ever been lucky enough to hear: Frank Sinatra.
