Tyler the Creator is back. The Grammy-winning rapper announced plans for his eighth studio album on Thursday (October 17). Titled Color schemethe set will be released later this month.
After an initial teaser on Wednesday (October 16), Tyler revealed Color schemeThe project's cover art along with the project's October 28th release date, which is a Monday and not a typical Friday.
“All songs written, produced and arranged by Tyler Okonma,” reads the text across the cover in a shade of emerald green. As for the art, it's a black and white photo of Tyler as the soldier rocks a mask, and fans got a glimpse of the 'St. Chroma” visual earlier this week.
Color scheme will serve as the official sequel for 2021 Call me if you get lost. Tyler had released an album every other year since then Demon debuted in 2011, but that streak came to an end when no projects made it to 2023.
Fans can access the Color scheme websitewhere they can pre-order the album and pre-order merch packs filled with CDs, hoodies, hats, t-shirts, bags and mini memorabilia Color scheme containers.
Fans got their first taste of Tyler embarking on his new era on Wednesday when the musician posted a clip of “St. Chroma', which some fans believed was the opening track of his next album. Solange Knowles, Lil Yachty, Gunner Stahl, IDK, Lil Dicky, Wolfacejoeyy, Laila!, Swizz Beatz, Doechii, Wynne and more took to his IG comment section to show him love.
Call me if you get lost arrived in June 2021 and debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 169,000 total first-week album sales. The LP won Best Rap album at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
Tyler will then perform at the Camp Flog Gnaw festival at Dodger Stadium the weekend of November 16th and November 17th, where attendees will likely hear music from his upcoming album. The full lineup for the carnival has yet to be revealed.
