Tyler, The Creator teased his seventh studio album COLOR COPIES about two weeks ago via social media, causing excitement among his devoted fans. Released early Monday morning (October 28), COLOR COPIES is currently a hot topic of discussion on the X platform with fans giving their first reviews.
His release COLOR COPIES was unexpected by fans of Tyler, The Creator, and the unconventional yet impressive release immediately caught their attention. After the release of the first single 'Noid' to great acclaim, along with a video for the track, fan anticipation was extremely high across multiple channels.
With a Monday release, Tyler, The Creator is looking to disrupt the usual Friday schedule, aiming to get fans to sit with the project for ht the entire week and not compete with dozens of releases.
On our first listen to the album, Tyler's layered production and his comfort between R&B leanings and straight-up rap showcase the full range of his artistry. There's a theme we spotted early on, which materializes in the aforementioned single 'Noid', which sees T struggle with the vestiges of fame and the paranoia it inspires.
Continuing the conversation about his money from the big bag CALL ME IF YOU'RE LOSTT makes a few boasts that highlight his financial status, but as his debut studio album has shown, T's production style has only evolved to a level where he has few peers, especially of his generation.
Another refreshing angle of it COLOR COPIES it's Tyler's mother who appears throughout the album encouraging her son to keep his wits about him, as she did on T's previous album in “MOMMA TALK.”
The album tackles many topics, including abortion in the track “Hey Jane” and the curse of fake bravado that T examines in “Take Your Mask Off.”
In X, the reactions at COLOR COPIES they're still flooding in, and we've shared some of them below.
