AJ Tracey and Pozer, two of the most sought-after names in UK rap, join forces on new single 'Heaterz'. Released via west London rapper AJ's label Revenge Records, the track samples the 'Gunshot Riddim' from pioneering grime producer Ironsoul.
“Heaterz” is part of a continuing wave of singles from AJ throughout 2024, after “Bubble Bath' and 'Joga Bonito'. The 30-year-old's last comprehensive effort arrived in the form of 2021 Flu game album, which featured guest appearances by his ilk KehlaniMabel and T-Pain. The record reached No. 2 of The Official UK Albums Chart.
Pozer, meanwhile, has enjoyed a major year. In April, the Croydon artist – who combines Jersey club and grime influences – made UK chart history by becoming the first British rapper to have his first two singles at the same time (“Kitchen Stove”, “Malicious Intentions” ). He has since made his television debut through an appearance on Later… With Jools Holland and has earned co-signs from UK rap stalwarts Dave, K-Trap and Skepta, among others.
Accompanying the release of “Heaterz” is a stunning music video directed by Latemilk, who has collaborated with AJ on various projects in the past. The clip was shot in London and captures the pace and intensity of the capital's street culture.
Having gained attention through pirate radio sessions as a teenager, AJ first broke into the mainstream with Secure the bag! EP in 2017. In the years since, he's scored six UK top 10 singles, with 'Ain't It Different', his 2020 collaboration with Headie One and Stormzy, reaching No. 2. Last year, AJ hit over a billion career streams, landing him BRIT Billion Award by the BPI (British Phonographic Industry) as a result.
