The leash is off and Dog Blood is out for a walk down memory lane after Skrillex and Boys Noize returned to the stage for the first time in over four years.
The duo dusted off the cobwebs of their dormant collaborative alias over the weekend to perform live at the 2024 edition of floating music festival Friendship. The event took place aboard Norwegian Joy and departed Miami on January 6 before sailing through the Caribbean and disembarking on the 11th.
Dog Blood's return was confirmed by EDM.com's Carlie Belbin, who was present for the performance on the festival's Friendship Stage. It is unclear at this time whether or not a tour is planned.
It's been over a decade since the arrival of Dog Blood, who debuted in 2012 thanks to their fan-favorite EP, Next order/middle finger. The duo's last festival performance took place in Los Angeles on November 2, 2019 at HARD Day of the Dead and their most recent release came in May of that year, when they released their fierce Turn off the lights PE.
Boys Noize in 2021 alluded to new Dog Blood music in the works, but has not formally announced an upcoming release since. He and Skrillex finally reunited last year to produce “Fine Day Anthem,” a four-on-the-track song that was not credited to Dog Blood on streaming platforms.
