Brazilian dynamo Vintage Culture is back with the latest single from their highly anticipated debut album, “Promised Land,” “Nothing Ever Changes.” Following closely on the heels of “Weak,” this single features the ethereal vocals of UK-based producer, singer and songwriter Magnus and makes for an intoxicating experience.
The track begins with a rhythmic foundation driven by ambient drum patterns, gradually introducing Magnus' captivating vocals that blend seamlessly with the evolving soundscape. Vintage Culture skillfully intensifies the vibrant production, leading listeners to a climactic moment highlighted by a resonant bassline.
“I remember hearing Magnus' voice on 'Nothing Ever Changes' for the first time. He was minutes away from going on stage with Swedish House Mafia in Paris. Magnus was halfway done with the vocals and lyrics in Amsterdam. He immediately attracted me to the melody and lyrics of the song. I sent notes about the direction, mood and atmosphere we should create, then ran to the Accor Arena stage to start my show. “I'm very proud of 'Nothing Ever Changes' and I think it's my best work to date.” – ancient culture
Reflecting on the inspiration and musical direction of “Nothing Ever Changes,” Magnus stated: “I wanted my first collaboration with Vintage Culture to have an emotional impact through songwriting and production, as well as a melody that would connect with fans around the world through Lukas' massive shows. I started the demo in Amsterdam and finished it a few weeks later in Berlin. The song really came to life when Vintage Culture began production. 'Nothing Ever Changes' reflects how I felt during a difficult time. We all go through these stages in life. The trick is to not let it consume you, but rather to harness these feelings and keep striving to improve.“
