Decentralized and its blockchain-powered beats will return in 2024 under another edition of the metaverse company's virtual music festival.
Decentraland Music Festival is one of the largest virtual festivals in the world. Since its launch in 2021, it has attracted users from 159 countries and has featured performances by high-profile artists such as RÜFÜS DU SOL, deadmau5, Björk, Soulja Boy, Alison Wonderland and Ozzy Osbourne.
However, this year's lineup focuses solely on electronic dance music, with headlining performances from NGHTMRE, San Holo, Mat Zo, BLOND:ISH, 33 Below, and WHIPPED CREAM, among others.

Founded in 2020, the immersive Decentraland is touted as the “first decentralized, community-driven virtual world.” Scheduled for November 20-23, its virtual brand festival is run through a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), a member-owned community that allows platforms to operate without a corporate leadership structure.
Organizers are also planning a series of metaverse-based experiences, such as music industry exhibition booths and discussions with major electronic brands and labels. These include iconic drum & bass label Hospital Records, as well as Audius, Beatport, LabelRadar and LANDR.
Festival-goers can also collect virtual merchandise and wearable devices branded by their headliners.

Bay Backner, head producer at Decentraland, said the festival's interstellar theme is at the center of this year's virtual experience.
