Big Sean first released a clip of this song and video on social media last month, and it's finally here: Sean and The Alchemist released “Together Forever” on Friday (August 16). Fans were especially excited to hear the Detroit rapper produce Alchemist and were thrilled to see the legendary producer back Sean up in the video.
Directed by KittyNineGuns, Sean raps on a weed with The Alchemist stoned and vibing in the background. Alan delivers a beat that's smoother than silk and Big Sean does it justice as he deals with the ups and downs he's been through over the years. “I've got a knack for turning what life throws at me into a blessing/ I love your company, but I'd rather be myself than fake a hookup,” he raps.
Although a version of his upcoming album Better Me Than You It was leaked in July, the next day, Sean announced the August 9th release date. However, scheduling issues forced him to delay the album by a few weeks, telling a fan on social media, “I have to push it a little bit. Music was done, but just organizing auditions, shows, etc. It may take an extra week or 2 to schedule.”
Some fans speculated that his former boss Ye was behind the leak, but Sean quickly dispelled those rumors. “I know he's not doing that sh–. I love Ye. Without him, I wouldn't be me,” he told his fans on Instagram Live. Adding, “I've been there ever since Graduation. I had to study, contribute, give energy to every project. 808s, Beautiful Twisted… I know he wouldn't do that, it's rubbish. So whoever did this, just know that it pissed me off.”
Also, there's an easter egg at the end of the video that includes a snippet of a darker-toned song that Alchemist also produced. Maybe we will have both songs in the upcoming project.
While there's no firm release date yet, you can still stock up on the Detroit rapper's first album from 2020 here.
