Cardi B couldn't let the other female rappers have all the fun as she decided to end her hiatus and dive in head first. The Bronx bombshell debuted her first single of 2024 with the smashing “Like What (Freestyle)” on Friday (March 1), which arrived with an accompanying sexy music video featuring Cardi cycling through a series of antics clothing and directed by Offset.

Possibly inspired by Lil Kim's wild look (a light gray fur coat and matching bikini) in her 2003 'Came Back for You' video, Bardi wanders around her futuristic mansion in a gray and black fur coat and stark black bikini . She later changes her clothes to nearly blind viewers in sparkly pants and a matching shiny bra top to match her blonde wig and icy bracelet.
Cardi B also pays tribute to Missy Elliott in the rich clip with her eyebrows studded with diamonds. But that's not the only salute to Missy either, as “Like What” features the Virginia legend's “She's a Bitch” from 1999. Da Real World.
“Baby here we go again/ P–sy too fat, I probably got a double chin/ First, that b—h hates me, then this b—h hates me/ And somehow, they hook up and become friends, like, how,” he raps while shouts the drama of the sideways change in hip-hop.
After confirming their split last year, things may be on the mend between Cardi B and her husband Offset, as the Grammy-winning rapper tapped the father of her two children to use his vision and direct the music video for “Like What (Freestyle).”
The Migos rapper urged Cardi to drop her anticipated sophomore album in a social media post earlier this month.
“Like What (Freestyle)” marks Cardi's first solo record since 2021's “Up,” which earned the MC her fifth Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit. 1. “Up” also earned a 2022 Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance.
This might just be the start of another year for Cardi B, as the music video's end credits followed with more: “This is just the beginning… Stay tuned.”
