Watch Elbow Perform 'Lovers' Leap' on 'The Graham Norton Show'
AUDIO VERTIGO Out March 22 via Polydor/Geffen

Elbow release new album, AUDIO VERTIGO, out March 22 via Polydor/Geffen. Last week they shared their first single, “Lovers' Leap.” On Friday night they performed the song on the British chat show The Graham Norton Show. They were joined by a horn section and appeared in front of a large illuminated sign bearing their name. Check it out below.
“Lovers' Leap” was #1 on our song of the week list.
In a press release, frontman Guy Garvey says that Lovers' Leap is designed “not to trouble but to distract from the bad things going on in the world. We found dark, gritty grooves playing in the back rooms and these they brought back some dark memories and plenty of humor.”
The genesis of the song began with bassist Pete Turner and drummer Al Reeves working together and many of his songs AUDIO VERTIGO were born of Elbow members working in smaller groups, before the full band finished the songs.
AUDIO VERTIGO is the sequel to 2021 Flying Dream 1 and unlike that more familiar album, the new record embraces a more varied and rhythmically diverse musical landscape, or as Garvey puts it, “cool, noisy grooves made by us playing together in garages.”
The band recorded the album throughout 2023 at the members' individual studios, Migration Studios in Gloucestershire and the band's premises at Blueprint Studios in Salford (in Greater Manchester).
Elbow's previous album was from 2019 Giants of all sizes (read our rave review of the album).
