Imagine walking into your local pub for a pint, but instead of being met by the grizzled barman who consoles (and overserves) you after every break-up, you see Fred again… tickling the keys.
Just weeks after performing at Glastonbury, the chart-topping electronic music superstar took on the role of busker over the weekend, turning up at a British pub for a secret performance alongside The Japanese House. The intimate performance took place on July 12 at The Rising Sun, a pub in the heart of the Brixton village of Pensford.
Celebrated indie artist Amber Bain's pseudonym, The Japanese House is known for her androgynous dream-pop sound. Her aching vocals proved a perfect match for Fred's tender keyboard work, with whom she performed remixed versions of her tracks “Sunshine Baby” and “Chewing Cotton Wool,” among other previously unreleased songs.
“Amber's voice is so magical I couldn't stop smiling,” she later wrote in an Instagram story.
