Martin Garrix soundtracked the first beats of 2024 from a DJ booth dramatically perched atop an architectural marvel, the Erasmus Bridge.
More than 60,000 people reportedly lined the docks of Rotterdam to watch the Dutch national fireworks display, which Garrix's team produced a custom audio-visual performance to line up with. Just hours earlier, the superstar DJ was in Bali headlining the New Year's Eve celebration at Atlas, the world's largest beach club.
After meeting Rotterdam Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb, Garrix ascended the iconic bridge's imposing single pylon, which stands at a height of 456 feet. The elegant structure earned the nickname “The Swan” after it opened in 1996, according to its designer. Ben van Berkel.
As the clock struck midnight, Garrix ushered in 2024 with a fitting version of his fan-favorite hit, “High On Life.” You can watch his full performance below.
