The singer also celebrate the four-year anniversary of her album Folklore during the concert
Taylor Swift concluded her two-night run in Hamburg, Germany last night and took the opportunity to debut her song “Run” for the first time live. The song, off her album Red, was paired with Folklore number “The Last Great American Dynasty” during Swift’s “Surprise Song” section of the Eras Tour setlist.
As yesterday marked the four-year anniversary of the release of Folklore, Swift’s folk-inspired album, she told the crowded she wanted to perform it acoustic. “The Last Great American Dynasty” previously appeared on the Eras Tour main setlist prior to Swift switching things up to include tracks from her most recent effort, The Tortured Poets Department.
“I’m gonna do a song that I’ve never played in the acoustic section before,” she told the crowd at Hamburg’s Volksparkstadion stadium. “And it’s from Folklore, because happy birthday to Folklore.”
Swift also showcased Red track “Nothing New” and Midnights song “Dear Reader” on piano during the acoustic portion of the set.
Earlier this week, Swift performed her songs “We Were Happy” and “Happiness” live for the first time in Hamburg. The Eras Tour continues in Munich following the dual Hamburg performances. It then goes to Warsaw and Vienna before wrapping the European leg at London’s Wembley Stadium with five more shows.
Swift recently announced that the next single from The Tortured Poets Department will be “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” “We’re so depressed we act like it’s #ICanDoItWithABrokenHeart’s birthday every day!” Taylor Nation’s official account wrote on Instagram Tuesday, referencing the bubbly track’s lyrics. “But today is special because Taylor’s declaring it the next single from #TSTTPD! Lights, camera, bitch, listen to see the cute new cover on all streaming platforms.”
