Taylor Swift gave one of her older songs an authentic twist at her Eras tour show in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on Thursday (July 18).
While performing “Hey Stephen” from 2008 Fearless during the acoustic section, the pop star interjected a one-word update to her classic lyrics. “All these other girls, well they're pretty/ But would they write a song about you?” she sang normally, before confirming her status as a songwriter by adding a sardonic “No!” which made the fans in the Veltins-Arena burst into laughter.
Swift has performed the track on previous Eras tour shows, but this time, she mixed it up Speak nowits title track. “I'm getting stares from everyone in the room, but I'm only looking at you,” she sang, seamlessly transitioning back and forth between songs. “Hey Stephen, I could give you 50 reasons why I should be the one you choose.”
She then took to her piano for an emotional medley Folklore“This Is Me Trying” and Midnight“Maze”. The night marked the 14-time Grammy winner's second of three concerts in Gelsenkirchen, with her third scheduled for Friday (July 19). It will then set up shop in Hamburg and Munich.
So far, Travis Kelce has been in the audience for all of Swift's shows in Germany. Fans spotted him dancing at the show and proudly filming his superstar girlfriend singing 'So High School' on her opening night in Gelsenkirchen and escorting her off the backstage area on the second night.
