Usher is gearing up for a busy February, which already includes his headlining performance at Super Bowl LVIII and the release of his ninth studio album. I'm coming home. Ahead of the LP, the hit producer dropped another single on Friday (February 2) with the Afrobeats-tinged “Ruin.”
The Pheelz-produced single arrives with a captivating visual, shot entirely on an iPhone 15 Pro and directed by Dave Meyers, who previously directed Usher's videos for “U Remind Me” and “Risk It All.” .
Usher begins the clip by exploring different avenues of love while getting intimate with a significant other. They head from the bedroom to the kitchen and start preparing the futuristic house for a party. Guests arrive and friends dance the night away, but Usher finds happiness and peace while hanging with his daughter.
“Baby, you gave me all these memories that I regret/ All I can do is say congratulations/ You ruined me for everybody,” he croons.
I'm coming home hits streamers on February 9th. The project serves as Usher's ninth studio album and is his first independently released. It's a star-studded affair on the 20-piece, as he's recruited Latto, Burna Boy, 21 Savage, The-Dream, HER, Summer Walker and BTS's Jung Kook to join him on the journey.
