Detroit's Veeze returns with his first single and video of 2024.
Directed by Jimmy Whisperz, “Pop Yo Shit” finds the young London street rapper floating over production from Basskid and Ddot with his signature fuzzy flow.
“I got some money so long ago, I built the pyramids,” Veeze spits wearing a Davy Crockett hat and a gray North Face bubble. This track is filled with witty lines like this, as well as the artist appearing as Justin Timberlake in some scenes. Another standout bar is when he said, “Young n—a, I'm a big bro now/Lil bros give me a headache.”
The video and song is a ride into the mind of a madman. It's easy to get lost in the frequent mentions and deep fakes, so pay attention and be careful because you might miss something.
With this track, Veeze seems to follow the monster of 2023. It wasn't just his album Ganger a critical favorite, but his indie label Navy Wavy signed a deal with Warner Records. Interestingly enough, a golf game with Warner label heads is what sealed the deal. “Going golfing with Aaron Bay-Schuck and Tom Corson really convinced me to do the partnership. These guys are first class gentlemen and I see myself learning a lot from them,” said the 7 Mile rapper. Advertising sign last year.
Recently, he has opened for Travis Scott on his rest Circus Maximus tour with fellow Detroit rappers Babyface Ray and Skilla Baby. He also embarked on his first European tour as he takes his unconventional style globally.
He was just in London looking like Veeze Timberlake.
