Wax Lyrical is a new series from The Vinyl Factory where vinyl selectors, artists and enthusiasts discuss their love of collecting vinyl.
A bastion of London’s queer DJ scene, Saoirse has steadily seen her profile grow over the past 15 years. The Irish-born, London-based DJ and producer, has forged a path with her diverse, party-starting sets, playing everywhere from fabric and FOLD to Love International and Sonar.
Having spent the last few years running London queer electronic festival Body Movements, Saoirse has come a long way from her origins working behind the counter at Dublin’s Abbey Discs before starting a role at Resident Advisor at the young age of 23.
Aside from DJing and running one of the UK’s pre-eminent queer festivals, Saoirse founded her imprint trUst in 2021, releasing her own music and that of her peers–including her latest release The Monogamous EP in April this year.
Ahead of Body Movement’s first event at Southwark Park on August 25, we talk with Saoirse about playing vinyl in the club, her selects for different moments of the party and discovering new music. Watch it here.
