In this episode of “Billboard Unfiltered,” Billboard staffers Carl Lamarre, Trevor Anderson, Kyle Denis and Damien Scott discuss the important role hip-hop artists have played in the upcoming election by speaking out about their endorsements. They also react to Tyler, The Creator's 'COLOR PAINT', Lil Durk's arrest, why more rappers end up in jail, and more!
Carl Lamar:
I know you've said it's in your Big 3. I think that has solidified it.
Kyle Dennis:
I mean the last two albums won Grammys, he'll probably lock in another No. 1, hopefully, with this one.
Carl Lamar:
I don't think Ari had that much time or patience to really try to play this indie game.
Trevor Anderson:
You're actually trying to get somebody off the hook for, you know, charges that are going to be murder. You know they have to be multi-decade, life sentences. All these species.
Damien Scott:
I really feel like rap gave up this election. We kind of sat this out.
Carl Lamar:
Hey guys what's up and welcome to another episode of “Billboard Unfiltered”.
Damien Scott:
What is good?
Carl Lamar:
Mr!
Trevor Anderson:
What's going on?
Kyle Dennis:
Son, son, son.
do
And we're back again, let's close this week on a good note. We got some music on Monday from a certain cat named Tyler, the Creator. His seventh studio album, CHROMAKOPIA.
Damien Scott:
I enjoyed Monday's release. I enjoyed Monday morning –
Carl Lamar:
Feels good right?
Damien Scott:
I loved going to work, listening to a new album in the morning, on a Monday morning, starting the week with new music. I liked this, we should try more of this.
Kyle Dennis:
If more releases are as good as this one, I'm all for Monday.
Carl Lamar:
You know, we could do something.
Stay tuned for more!
