The last time Will.i.am shared the stage with Usher during the Super Bowl was when the Black Eyed Peas headlined halftime in 2011. But on Sunday (February 11), it was Will's turn to be the special guest, when he took the stage at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas as Usher's special guest during his “Yeah!” The singer's rocking Super Bowl LVIII halftime show to lend a hand to the same song they collaborated on all those years ago, 2010's “OMG.”
“How can I explain it? There are no words to really explain this,” Will said The Hollywood Reporter after Sunday's game where the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in overtime. “Now, 13 years later, it means something completely different. It's beautiful. It was great. It's fantastic.”
Will also praised Usher for bringing some special flavor to the set with a group of roller skating extras who twirled and spun around the stage during a performance that also featured guest spots from Alicia Keys, HER, Jermaine Dupri, Ludacris and Lil John. “The reason I say our division was the most 'What the F?' is because we've never seen skating on any kind of big world stage like this,” Will said. “It was like the Olympics of cities. It brought the Urban Olympics in the Super Bowl.”
Honestly, the face shield-wearing BEP leader said, Usher's 13-minute blitz of hits had “so many OMG moments…so many OMG moments that 60 seconds of 'OMG' was all you needed because the show was 'oh my god'” . “”
