Premios Juventud 2024 kicked off with a lively spectacle led by renowned salsa producer Sergio George and reggaetón heavyweight Wisin, setting fire to the stage, equipped with red lighting, at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot.
Celebrating tropical beats, the opening performance of “La Vida Es Una Fiesta” — which they premiered live on Wednesday (July 25) — ran through the audience like a living pulse, epitomizing the night's joyful theme.
Wisin, in a black leather outfit and a badass baseball cap – and looking tough and revealing – sang: “Life's a party, day or night, rock it and don't stop. I bring you good rumba to dance and forget your sorrows.' Meanwhile, Sergio George, wearing a white long-sleeve and matching trousers, played keyboards while flanked by an energetic brass section.
This electrifying pair not only heralded the night's festivities in San Juan, but also perfectly embodied the essence of the joyous spirit of the awards ceremony, setting the stage for pure revelry.
The 2024 Premios Juventud — a fan-voted awards show — is hosted by Lele Pons, Clarissa Molina and Wisin. For its 21st annual ceremony, artists Carin León, Maluma, Peso Pluma, Karol G and Shakira were among the most nominated. Meanwhile, Anitta, Los Tigres del Norte and Lele Pons received the Agent of Change Award, which “recognizes and celebrates” young entrepreneurs and prominent stars who “selflessly contribute to creating a better world,” according to the report awards.
