Yandel fired up the crowd at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards on Sunday (October 20) with a powerhouse performance of two hit singles from his latest album, ELYTE. Dressed in a black leather vest and trousers, while sporting dark shades and a bucket hat, the reggaeton oozed tough charisma.
The show kicked off with 'Afro', an Afrobeat filled track that captivated the audience with its vibrant energy. Yandel, accompanied by a troupe of dancers dressed in stunning metallic silver outfits, brought the song to life with captivating choreography and an undeniable stage presence.
The Puerto Rican genre pioneer then delivered “Háblame Claro,” a soulful reggaetón tune that originally featured Feid and peaked at No. 33 on the Hot Latin Songs chart. While the Colombian star was not present, Yandel's solo performance did not disappoint as he infused the performance with passion and just the right mix of intensity and charm.
“This is a Tainy song [produced] with Los Icons,” Yandel said Bulletin board on October 10, when his new album was released. “From the moment I heard it, I felt it was a hit and would be a defining track for the album. Everything was natural, as if the ideas aligned perfectly. Every time I listen to it, I'm transported back to that moment and the atmosphere that led us to create something that, without a doubt, speaks to both the roots of reggaetón and its evolution.”
The 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards will also include performances by J Balvin, Grupo Niche, Pepe Aguilar, Gloria Trevi, Maria Becerra, Xavi, Chencho Corleone, Prince Royce, Gabito Ballesteros, Proyecto Uno and more.
