After furious Swifties took over Twitter, the pop star finally hit the mic to speak out. In her Instagram Story, Swift hinted at the new videos, but quickly turned her attention to the World Health Organization and Feeding America's donation pages to aid the coronavirus relief efforts.
“Instead of answering those who ask how I feel about the leaked video proving I was telling the truth all along about this call (you know, the one that was recorded illegally, that someone edited and manipulated to frame me and put me, my family and my fans through hell for 4 years)… SWIPE UP to see what really matters,” she posted , linking to Feeding America and the World Health Organization.
Later that night, Kim Kardashian West weighed in again, sparking a #KimKardashianIsOverParty firestorm. He created a lengthy argument on Twitter that tagged Swift's account to call her out directly for choosing to “rehash an old exchange – which right now feels very self-serving given the pain millions of real victims are going through right now” about Pandemic covid-19.
“To be clear, the only issue I ever had around the situation was that Taylor lied through her publicist who stated that 'Kanye never called to ask for permission…' They spoke clearly so I let you see . No one ever denied that the word 'b—h' was used without her permission,” Kardashian said on social media before addressing what she believed to be the crux of the four-year feud. “At the time they spoke the song wasn't fully written yet, but as everyone can see in the video, she manipulated the truth of their conversation in her statement when her team said she “dismissed and warned him about releasing a song. with such a strong misogynistic message.” The lie was never about the b—h word, it was always whether there was a call or not and the tone of the conversation.”
The reality star also denied claims that she edited her Snapchat footage from 2016 and defended her husband's right to record his musical process as an artist.
After Kardashian challenged Swift's publicist Tree Paine, saying the “Reputation” artist used her to lie about West never calling to ask for permission, Paine released an “unedited original statement” that read : “Kanye didn't ask for approval, but to ask Taylor will release his single 'Famous' on her Twitter account. She refused and warned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynist message. Taylor was never informed of the actual verse, “I made this b—h famous.”
Additionally, Kardashian's younger sister, Khloé Kardashian, weighed in on the matter, praising her sister's legal instincts. “I was about to go to sleep but then I saw my sister posting some tweets. Kimberly you are a betta!!!!!!!!!!!! he wrote on Twitter. “Kim is my lawyer for life!!!!!! My sister AND my lawyer.”
