Young Thug made his first public appearance since being released from prison while hanging out with fellow Atlanta native TI on Monday night (November 4).
Thugger and Tip were seen in the studio with son TI Domani when the “What You Know” rapper posted a clip to Instagram early Tuesday (November 5) featuring a guest appearance from the recently released YSL honcho.
“I'm back,” Thug declared on one of his Sp5der hoodies. “I'm back, Jack. No cap on my rap. The right way!”
TI added: “Hey man, there's no such thing as a queen mother hat. the time has come. Now go say it!”
Tip revealed in his caption that he would be temporarily putting an end to his retirement from rap to join the booth with Thug. “Yeahhhhh YKWTFGO The Kings are back together #KingJeffrey #KingSr,” she wrote. “I guess I'm officially coming out of retirement for tonight #Welcomehome.”
Fat Joe, E-40 and more took to the comments section, sending their best wishes to Thugger now that he's back home.
Young Thug – born Jeffery Williams – was released from prison on Halloween on appeal when Judge Paige Reese Whitaker imposed a 15-year suspended sentence, which allowed Thugger to be released on the same day as Thursday's hearing.
“I know you're talented and if you choose to continue rapping you should try to use your influence to let kids know that it's not the right way and that there are ways to get out of poverty other than hooking up with the powerful guys in the end of the street selling drugs,” Whittaker said.
Thug has been jailed for more than 700 days since his May 2022 arrest without bail. The YSL RICO trial is the longest-running criminal trial in Georgia history, and it's far from over — two of his co-defendants have declined to plead guilty and are still facing trial.
While Thug and TI have collaborated in the past on anthems like “About the Money,” Thugger appears to be teasing music with another ATLien. Signs have appeared in Los Angeles hinting at a Thug and Lil Baby reunion.
“Whatever Wham says goes,” the signs read repeatedly, as if written on a chalkboard by a student in detention.
“Whatever Wham Say Goes,” it reads a June 26 tweet by Thug, which many associated with Lil Baby's endorsement of Thugger.
