After releasing his latest song, “The World's a Giant,” Zach Bryan updated his fans on Instagram about a recent return home to Oklahoma, sharing that he's taking a break from touring to pursue an advanced degree.
Bryan took to Instagram, sharing a photo of himself with his late mother, Annette, as well as other photos, including snaps of Bryan with his bandmates.
“After not being home for a year and a half, I drove to my mother's gravestone in the middle of the night, a few days back on familiar roads in Oklahoma and realized, as in the past, that she would never call me again. “, he wrote on Instagram.
He continued, “I told her I stopped touring because I was accepted to take my teachers to Paris next year, I told her I moved back to Oklahoma, I told her about all my best friends in New York and all the nights we screamed at the moon . , told her about the countless laughs my band and I have shared over the past five years, all the calluses on my fingers, every tear shed, I told her I would make it. The Rolling Stone and most importantly I told her about the porch swing with my beautiful sister.
“I wrote the chorus for this song a month or two ago and finished it when I realized I was blessed with all these things. I thought it was time to release it. Thanks guys for listening to “This Worlds a Giant” last night and thanks to all the people who love me. who really carried the burden with me. It seems like all those Quiet Dreams have gotten too heavy, but I'm home now and I'll hold you through the pain. 'High Road' is out today and I appreciate you all.”
Bryan has headlining tour dates on the books through December on his Quittin' Time 2024 tour. The “I Remember Everything” crooner earned a two-week No. 1 Billboard 200 hit with his self-titled album and 2024 The Great American Bar Scene peaked at No. 2 on that chart.
His new music comes shortly after Bryan in October confirmed his split from his ex-girlfriend, Barstool Sports personality Brianna LaPaglia (aka Brianna Chickenfry).
“Brianna and I have separated and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart,” he wrote on his Instagram stories. “She loved me unconditionally for a long time and for that I will always be grateful. I've had an incredibly difficult year personally and I've struggled with some pretty tough stuff. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our separate ways. I'm not perfect and I never will be.”
LaPaglia released her own statement soon after, saying, “Hey guys, I'm feeling really blindsided right now. I'm going to go off social media for a while and try to heal privately, when I'm ready I'll be back and ready to talk. I love you guys so much thank you for all your kind words. Remember that you are so loved and everything will be alright.”
