Zedd has confirmed a new album will be released in 2024, his first in almost a decade.
The album will follow the brilliance of 2015. True colorswhich delivered fans a series of generational dance anthems, including the Selena Gomez-assisted “Beautiful Now” and “I Want You to Know.”
Zedd spoke about the unreleased album in August 2022, likening it at the time to “a new chapter” of his art. Almost two years later, he has revealed that he is officially on his way, painting a picture of a deeply reflective work with a nostalgic touch.
“I miss the days when albums had meaning and could give you a deeper experience than just some random songs thrown together, which I think a lot of albums are these days,” he said. USA Today. “There's really no story to this. And I've accomplished more in my career than I ever dreamed I could, so I just wonder what the point of making an album would be if it weren't to make something that's deeply special and honest and that gives fans the experience I crave and can rarely find these days.”
The album isn't complete yet, Zedd added, but he said “I can finally promise it will be out this year.”
In other Zedd news, the chart-topping DJ is set to drop beats (and buckets) at the 2024 NCAA March Madness Music Festival. Announced today. The free three-day festival is scheduled for April 5-7 at Hance Park in Phoenix and will end before the Division I Men's National Championship game on Monday, April 8.
Zedd has not announced the title or release date of his next album as of this writing.
