JUSTICE has announced that their new album 'Hyperdrama' will be released on April 26, 2024 via Ed Banger Records / Because Music. Two singles are released today, taken from the upcoming album: “One Night/All Night” (starring Tame Impala) and “Generator”.
Of the single “One Night/All Night” (featuring Tame Impala), the band says: “This is Kevin [Parker] singing. This is the touchstone of this album. Okay, let's make a song that's all techno, then all disco, and then all techno again. It’s a bit like when you have a wine that doesn’t fit well with what you’re doing and they fight for attention, but it still tastes good.”
And from “Generator”, the band adds: “To us, this sounds like Salsoul Orchestra's 'Getaway', but with gabber and classic '90s techno sounds. We love all kinds of music that don't really appear on Justice. But I would say that the two main types of music that coexist in Justice from the beginning are disco funk and more electronic music. And particularly in Generator we make them coexist, but not in a really peaceful way. “We like the idea of making them fight a little for attention.”
The official video for “One Night/All Night” is available to watch below. The stunning visual, produced by Phantasm and directed by Anton Tammi in collaboration with Justice, also reveals the artwork for the highly anticipated 'Hyperdrama' album. As Tammi states:
“I suggested to them that what if we dive? What if your music video was a journey inside the cross? I dreamed of creating a piece like this. “A strange, experimental object that looks like rave lighting inside human lungs and a strobe light around a human heart.”
The new album 'Hyperdrama' will be available from April 26 in digital format for streaming/download, as well as physically on CD, double black vinyl, limited edition double crystal vinyl and limited edition double picture disc vinyl.
