Rising Oklahoma crooner shares first new original song off 2023 EP Breakthrough life lessons
Rising singer from Oklahoma Wyatt Flores returns with tender breakup track “Milwaukee,” one of the first new songs from his 2023 EP release. life lessons.
“Milwaukee is about all the times you've loved someone but not fully loved them. It is a love letter to the love that is lost with the clarity of the mistakes that were made,” Flores said in a statement. “We all hope our mistakes don't define us, and Milwaukee is just that. Love is an action, and if you don't work to keep it, it will slip through your fingers.”
“Somewhere in Milwaukee / There's snow covering the concrete / And I still see you walking away,” Flores sings on the opening verse. “And I tried to say I'm sorry / This freezing rain kept falling / And I couldn't find the words that make you stay.” Later on the track, Flores begs his ex, “Please don't hate my heart.”
“Milwaukee” was written by Flores with Graham Barham, Gavin Lucas and Cole Miracle and marks Flores' first new music since life lessons; As a Christmas gift to fans, he dropped a cover of the Fray's “How to Save a Life,” which he had previously performed in concert.
