Before turning the page on a new chapter, Minnesota is selecting a bass-filled sunset that will linger long after the lights come on.
The renowned electronic music producer has been a constant source of innovation since debuting with the Minnesota project in 2011. Now he will retire the moniker, but not before taking audiences on one last journey filled with the ghostly wubs that made him one of the Americans. The most beloved producers of the dubstep scene.
Now he has announced “Out of the Void,” his final tour as Minnesota. Spanning 24 dates, it kicks off this Friday, February 2 and will head to Las Vegas, Chicago, Austin and other major US cities before concluding in San Francisco on April 27.
Silence will soon swallow the familiar for Minnesota fans, but the future is bright as he plans to reveal a new alias and plenty of new music.
“It's hard to describe what it feels like to let go of this thing I've been doing for a third of my life, but I'm really excited about the music I've been working on for my new project.” Minnesota said in a statement shared on its social media channels.
“I'll make music under a new name,” he continues. “I know this sounds very snobbish, but when people ask me what genre it will be or what artists the music will sound like, the only thing I can really say is that it's electronic music and it will sound like me. But man, it's the best feeling in the world “To hear that people are interested in what I'm doing next. I'm excited and scared to death to start this new thing, but I'm proud of myself for having the opportunity to see what else I can do.”
