Alice Cooper has announced her return to radio in the form of “Alice's Attic,” a new syndicated radio show.
“Alice's Attic” will be the spiritual successor to her long-running show “Nights with Alice Cooper,” which ended last year after two decades, and features the same creative team. The new show will air for five hours Monday through Thursday (with reconfigured blocks on weekends) via Cooper's new distribution partner, Superadio.
“To all my crazy radio minions, I'm back,” Cooper joked in a press release. “And if you thought 20 years of 'Nights with Alice Cooper' was weird, wait until you get to 'Alice's Attic!' Just think about who or what could be lurking in all these dusty old boxes. We have the same team behind the new program and so the program will look quite familiar to you, but we are all hoping to be a little more creative when introducing new elements to prevent things from becoming stale. Speaking of rancid…what IS that smell??!”
Local radio stations in the U.S. and Australia will begin airing the show today (Feb. 5), and according to Cooper's press release, stations in Canada and the U.K. are expected to begin airing the show soon.
Following a similar format to “Nights with Alice Cooper,” the new show features a “curated mix of classic and somewhat dark rock, with an occasional 'future classic' song, plus Cooper's stories and commentary on the music and the artists it presents.”
