Ice Spice may be on a hot streak when it comes to her hot music career, but she couldn't handle the spice that came with her wings. Hot.
The Bronx native boasted that she “always ate” spicy food, but gave it up with a pair of wings left over during her Hot show on Thursday (March 28).
“This is so bad,” she said moments before throwing in the towel. “It looks like I'm crying, but I'm not.”
The 24-year-old — who was honored as a Billboard Women in Music's 2024 Hitmaker — took a whiff of Matasanos hot sauce and decided her time in the torture chamber was up. “No… I'm not going to do that to myself,” she said as she snagged a spot next to DJ Khaled at the wall of shame.
While Ice Spice couldn't cross the finish line, she did manage to spill some tea on the upcoming y2k debut album, which is due out in the coming months.
“I played the album all the way up in the car volume and it passed,” he said of the project passing the car test. “I usually work on the hook I like first and then the lyrics come. [But] there's one track on the album that I just went straight into a verse and there's not really a hook. I'm excited to see what the fans think about it.”
Ice Spice takes her bubbly music videos down to the last detail seriously and wanted to work with Nicki Minaj on “Princess Diana (Remix)” perspective, which she has crowned as the favorite of her career so far.
The rappers' lavish pink music video has garnered more than 135 million views on YouTube, while the track reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
“I like to shoot them because at that point, the song is complete and you're happy with it,” he said. “'Princess Diana (Remix)' with Nicki was my favorite video to shoot because I was so excited. God, I've never been so excited on stage. And the bedroom scene, it was so much fun. Being in bed and jumping around with Nikki — who does that?'
Earlier in March, Ice Spice revealed that she had finished recording for y2k. “Finished recording the album ^.^,” she wrote on her social media accounts on March 5. The LP's title is inspired by her birthday which landed on January 1, 2000.
“I think this is one of my best jobs,” he said confidently Advertising sign while hinting that the album “isn't going to be too long – it's going to be sweet and meaningful”.
