Charli XCX is set to receive the ASCAP Global Impact Award at a party celebrating the winners of the 2024 ASCAP Pop Music Awards on Wednesday, May 8 in Los Angeles. The invitation-only event will recognize the songwriters and publishers of ASCAP's most-performed pop songs of the past year.
Past recipients of the ASCAP Global Impact Award include Lana Del Rey and Hillary Lindsey.
“Charlie is an unstoppable creative force,” ASCAP chairman and president Paul Williams said in a statement. “Her avant-garde style is bold, authentic and infectious as she skillfully infuses the best of the underground and mainstream worlds into her music.”
“I am honored to receive this award from ASCAP,” said Charli XCX. “It's nice to see them stand up for authenticity, and it's nice to be recognized by an organization that's dedicated to supporting songwriters and fostering an environment where we can make music we love.”
Charli XCX received the Powerhouse Award at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards on March 6 at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California. He has also received the Ivor Novello Visionary Award, two Billboard Music Awards and a YouTube Music Award as well as Grammy, BRIT Awards and MTV EMA nominations.
After her success Barbie contributing to the “Speed Drive” soundtrack last year, she is co-executive producer of the music for the film A24 Virgin with Jack Antonoff and producing original music for Benito Skinner's series Overcompensation on Prime Video. In addition to her success as an artist, Charli XCX has built a successful songwriting career, co-writing hits such as Icona Pop's “I Love It,” Iggy Azalea's “Fancy,” Camila Cabello & Shawn's “Señorita” Mendes and Selena Gomez's 'Señorita' Same Old Love.”
Charli XCX's latest album, Conflict, reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the UK Official Albums Chart. Her sixth studio album, Brat, expected this summer.
