Slash has unveiled the latest single from his upcoming blues album, Orgy of the Damned, set to arrive on May 17th. The Guns N’ Roses guitarist teams up with country superstar Chris Stapleton on a cover of Fleetwood’s Mac’s “Oh Well.”
The freewheeling guitar playing from Slash and the raspy vocal delivery from Stapleton add a gritty vibe to Fleetwood Mac’s original 1969 song, a bluesy garage number that was penned and sung by singer-guitarist Peter Green.
“Oh Well” follows previous single “Killing Floor,” which features AC/DC’s Brian Johnson on vocals and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler on harmonica.
Other guests on the album, which primarily consists of covers of classic blues songs, include Iggy Pop, Demi Lovato, Paul Rodgers, Gary Clark Jr., Billy Gibbons, and more.
In support of the new album, Slash will embark on the traveling S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival, which will see the the guitar legend hit the road with Warren Haynes Band, Keb’ ‘Mo, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Robert Randolph, Samantha Fish, Eric Gales, ZZ Ward, Jackie Venson, and Larkin Poe.
The outing kicks off July 5th in Bonner, Montana, and runs through an August 17th show in Grand Prairie, Texas, with tickets available here.
