A biopic on Chris Farley is in the works, with Paul Walter Hauser set to portray the comedy legend.
Directed by Josh Gad, the film will adapt the The Chris Farley Show: A Biography in Three Acts, which was written by Farley’s brother, Tom. Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (The Disaster Artist, 500 Days of Summer) will pen the film’s screenplay.
The project has the blessing of Farley’s family, and will be produced by SNL creator Lorne Michaels.
Hauser recently won Golden Globe and Emmy Awards for his performance in the Apple TV+ limited series Black Bird.
One of the most talented comedians of his generation, Farley earned universal acclaimed for his five-season run as a cast member on Saturday Night Live and subsequent roles in films like Tommy Boy and Black Sheep. Unfortunately, Farley died of a drug overdose in 1997 at the age of 33.
