tricksMax's showbiz comedy about aging comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and her writer Ava (Hannah Einbinder), has revealed the trailer for season 3, premiering May 2.
Set to the soundtrack of Elton John's “Benny and the Jets,” the new trailer shows Deborah Vance after the success of her comedy special and enjoying a second wind of stardom. She has interviews scheduled, photo shoots, and a new (younger) demographic of fans is finally paying attention. Meanwhile, Ava, still alone, struggles to cope with Deborah hiring new writers and moving forward without her.
However, as the trailer progresses, Ava and Deborah are shown working together once again, tasked with keeping Deborah successful amid more pressure than ever. The official logline reads: “One year after splitting, Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) is enjoying the success of her special while Ava (Hannah Einbinder) looks for new opportunities in Los Angeles.” Watch the trailer for season 3 of tricks below.
