After being a last-minute addition to the second weekend of Coachella Sunday, Kid Cudi had his performance cut short when he jumped from the stage into the photo pit and subsequently broke his foot.
Cudi made his Coachella return to the Sahara tent, where he played in 2019, at 5:10 p.m. on Sunday, and quickly began running through several tracks from his 2023 album. INSANE and its follow-up for 2024, INSANE (NITRO MEGA). However, once she got to the most nostalgic part of her set, things went wrong; During a performance of David Guetta's “Memories,” Kid Cudi jumped off the stage and landed with his ankle underneath him.
After the fall, which definitely looked painful, Cudi was unable to stand and had to be lifted backstage. The set concluded and Cudi was taken to a hospital, where tweeted post an update: “Hey guys, I broke my foot at the show today,” the rapper wrote on Twitter. “I just got out of the hospital. I've never broken a bone before, so this is all a little crazy. I want to thank you all for your concerns and well wishes! I love you all, man. I heard them all still furious when I was off stage. He made me smile a lot.” See fan-captured footage of Cudi's fall below.
Kid Cudi was the surprise guest for Weekend 2, while Weekend 1 enjoyed a surprise performance by Vampire Weekend, who brought out Paris Hilton and an Abraham Lincoln impersonator to play cornhole on stage. Check out our photo gallery from Coachella Weekend 1.
Meanwhile, Kid Cudi's foot will hopefully recover quickly, because he's set to embark on a big 2024-2025 tour alongside Pusha T. The “Insano World Tour” kicks off in Austin on June 28; get tickets to all their upcoming tour dates here.
