Knocked Loose have teamed up with Poppy for “Suffocate,” the latest single from the former's upcoming album. You won't go ahead of schedule, available May 10. stream it below.
The song is one of the most sonically diverse Knocked Loose tracks to date, with the band's typical explosive hardcore colliding with more danceable rhythms and an addictive reggaeton bounce that works wonderfully in this context. Poppy's musical fingerprints are all over it, making his contributions feel more collaborative than a simple vocal feature.

In a press release, Poppy revealed that she initiated the collaboration by reaching out to Knocked Loose frontman Bryan Garris: “I'm a huge Knocked Loose fan and it's an honor to be on this one.”
The versatility of his voice opened up Knocked Loose's sonic palette, allowing the band to “push the boundaries of what we thought was feasible,” according to guitarist Isaac Hale. “It was a lot of fun because his voice allowed us to expand our palette and do some weird, wacky things that maybe we wouldn't do on another song.”
Knocked Loose are just days away from kicking off their highly anticipated North American tour with Show Me the Body, kicking off with an appearance on Sick New World on Saturday (April 27). Get tickets to upcoming Knocked Loose shows here.
