Known for their innovation, Wavedash wants to capture the special feelings found in spontaneous moments while on tour.
Instead of preparing a lot for a live show to show his new mixtape Tempo, the trio instead calls their upcoming tour a series of parties. They want the experience to be meaningful and personal, something that pre-planned scenarios simply can't capture the same way reading to a crowd can.
The format of Wavedash sets will change each night, depending on the group. Without any announced support, they will perform alongside friends at several of the events and play from open to closed at others.
Perhaps most importantly, they want each show to remain a surprise. To help facilitate that approach, they're asking fans to cover their smartphone cameras with stickers reading “Social media? No thanks.”
“Lately we've been feeling like phones are getting in the way of having fun – after all, it's dance music and we want to dance with you!” Wavedash wrote in an Instagram post. “We hope you try it: dancing.” , he sings, meet someone new! and at the end of the day, if you don't want to, you don't have to (but we feel like this is the right step for this tour).”
