Going back to 2016, The Chainsmokers are back with a new EP, No hard feelingspulling the thread of a perfect reconciliation of its past and future sounds.
The latest project from the successful duo is a comprehensive revisiting of their roots while moving into new stylistic domains. With the release of the single “Friday,” fans were primed for a full resurgence of The Chainsmokers' signature carefree style, a promise fulfilled across six tracks that combine the familiar with the unexpected.
In a future pop revival of the mid-2010s, No hard feelings thrills with its robust 808 base and expansive, melodic bass. Each track delivers a burst of euphoria mixed with a touch of nostalgia, but it's clear that The Chainsmokers aren't simply looking back.
The EP's first track, “No Shade at Pitti,” is a foray into hyperpop characterized by shimmering synths and a bassline that pulses with new-age vitality. From the smoky undertones of “Bad Advice” (featuring Elio) to the emotional resonance of “Green Lights,” The Chainsmokers are forging a familiar path with clear direction and renewed perspective.
